Getting nervous!

So we are a little over 2 weeks away from our scheduled c-section and the nervousness has set in big time!! I lay awake every night with a million thoughts going through my head. When should I pack my bags? Will Paxton be ok while I am in the hospital? How long will I BE in the hospital? Is the recovery going to be really hard with a toddler and a newborn? Will I get all my Christmas stuff done before, well Christmas of course? I could go on and on, but you get the idea. A big part of me is so tired of being pregnant and can't wait to be done, but another part of me is feeling like I need to just relax and enjoy what little time we have left as a family of 3 before chaos begins! I am sure I am not the only Mom to feel like this when she is about to have her 2nd child. With the 1st one, you are so clueless, but with the 2nd one you remember EXACTLY what having a newborn is like, except now you have to factor in a toddler as well!! Anyway, I am sure it will all go well and we will figure it out as we go. As for the bag packing, gonna go ahead and do it this weekend ...and the Christmas shopping, well I will just apologize ahead of time to our family if I do not in fact get it all done :)

Paxton's 2nd birthday!

Paxton's birthday is the day after Halloween and since this fell on a Sunday this year, it was the perfect day to have his party. Amber and I were up early to go to Dillons to get tacks for the stupid streamers that would not stay up and to get donuts for breakfast. Both boys were awake when we got home so we set them up to the counter so they could have their breakfast, Pax loved his special birthday donut. The day got hectic after that as I was trying to get house clean and bake 50+ cupcakes from scratch for the party. With the help of my family, everything got done and the party went off without a hitch. It was a Halloween themed party so the kiddos got to wear their costumes again. I had so much fun buying and decorating for such a fun theme. I love that his birthday is around Halloween cause it's my favorite holiday and I foresee lots of fun parties in the future. Pax got SO MANY toys for his birthday, and he wanted to play with each one as he opened it and didn't understand why we kept taking them away so he could open the rest of them. The day turned out great, but we were all exhausted after it was all over. The time change mixed with no nap mixed with LOTS of fun proved too much for Pax and he crashed at 7:45 that night. I can't believe my little boy is 2 years old, time has gone by so fast. He is still the love of my life and will always be my baby even though we will soon be getting a new baby. He continues to amaze me each day with his personality and all the new things he learns to say and do.

The table all decorated for the party, my favorite was the skulls hanging from lights (thanks Amber).

The cupcakes I made from scratch, my Mom helped me frost them.
It was a beautiful day so we all headed outside to play.

helpin him blow out his candle, he got a little shy once everyone started singing to him.

All the kids, Pax was already busy eating his cupcake and could not be bothered to smile or pose.

After eating some apple slices, he moved the bowl to the side, laid down and fell asleep in about 2 seconds!! He was one tuckered out birthday boy!!

Halloween Happenings

Halloween week/weekend were a very busy time for us. We were preparing to have my family come into town for the weekend for trick or treating and Paxton's birthday which is the day after Halloween. The weeks fesitivities began Tuesday night when we carved pumpkins. Paxton wouldn't put his hand in the pumpkin to get the seeds out and soon lost interest in carving them too, so Mommy and Daddy ended up doing all the work. On Thursday night, Pax and I made homeade sugar cookies for him to take to daycare the next day for his birthday. I now remember why I hate making sugar cookies from scratch as it took me quite a while to do all this! Saturday morning is when Auntie Amber, cousin Aiden, Auntie Sarah and Nana Jana came to our house. Pax had been talking about Aiden NON-STOP all week and was so excited to see him. We all went to the pumpkin patch and had a great time, the weather was beautiful and it was not crowded at all! After getting home and taking naps we all got ready for trick or treating. The boys had a great time going around the neighborhood, and I must say they were the cutest little pirate and monkey I had ever seen! All in all, it was a great day with the family. It is so fun to see the 2 boys play together, especially now that Aiden is walking all over and can keep up with his older cousin (he is not even 1 yet but walking like a pro). They are going to be great friends being so close in age, and I can't wait to watch them grow up together.
