O Christmas Tree!!

We busted out the Christmas decorations!! I have been playing Christmas music and watching Christmas movies (with the kids of course, pshaw), baking, and doing all sorts of Christmasy stuff around the house. I love this time of year............now if I can only convince Paxton that Santa is NOT the devils spawn. We MAY (and by that I mean we most certainly did) have traumatized him a bit last year when we had a friend dress up as Santa and come to our house Christmas Eve. Note to parents: don't EVER do this!!! Here are pics from that encounter, does Pax look happy child on Christmas Eve in these pictures? NOPE!

We were driving today and there was a house with a ton of lights and a blow up Santa and I pointed it out to Pax and he said "Cool!!.....but Mom I still don't like Santa." Crap! What the hell have I done? I totally turned my kid against Christmas, that has to be illegal or something. Is SRS going to be knocking on my door? I wouldn't blame them if they did. Pax did help me decorate though, so maybe SLOWLY he is coming around? Maybe that's just what I tell myself so I can sleep at night.

This is him yelling at me to stop taking pictures!! Ha ha. Harper was in bed when we decorated so she saw it for the first time the next morning and she was so in awe of it, she wouldn't drink her bottle. She has done pretty good about not taking off the ornaments, or messing with it. She will walk over to it (yup she is walking) and put her finger on it and turn and look at me with a smile on her face. I tell her no and she laughs and walks away. She is hilarious. Mostly she just stares at it.

Swagger Wagon!!

Today is like Christmas for me because I am getting...............A Swagger Wagon (aka Toyota Sienna minivan)!!!!! I have been wanting a minivan forever (and no I never thought I would say that). Once we had Harper I realized that my little Honda Accord just wasn't cuttin it.

I needed automatic sliding doors, and 3rd row seating, and well just SPACE!!! Now all I had to do was convince the hubs that minivans were COOL..............he wasn't buyin it (literally and figuratively). So I have been asking, pleading, hinting, begging, bribing, him since we had Harper almost a year ago, and finally, FINALLY, he has come to his senses and agreed that we could get one. So he called our dealership in Manhattan yesterday and they got everything figured out and are delivering us (me) our van today!! Just in time for our big (long) trip to Missouri next week for Thanksgiving and my cousins wedding! I might sleep in it tonight (you think I am kidding, I am not).

And in case you haven't seen this, (all my facebook friends have a few times cause I post it a lot, it just never gets old) this is the reason I wanted the Toyota Sienna:

Life as a stay at home Mom (sort of)

Well we are on week 2 of me only working part-time and staying home with the kiddos. It is going really well so far!! A typical day for us consists of waking up at 6:30 am (Harper), it USED to be 7:30 am but this stupid, gosh darn time change screwed THAT up!! Pax usually sleeps until 7:30 or 7:45, time change didn't affect him (I still hate it though and think it should be outlawed in all states!!!) We all get dressed and fed and I usually take the kids to work with me for a couple hours.I am able to put them in Kid Zone for up to 3 hours a day for FREE since I work there, it's a great deal. Harper had a hard time last week, everytime we went she cried the whole 2 hours and wanted held and if I HAPPENED to walk in front of the nursery and she saw me, oh holy hell she would scream!! This week it's been a lot better, she will actually get down on the floor and play, it makes work a lot easier for me cause I don't have to hear her screaming while I am working. Pax LOVES kid zone, they do crafts and play games and if it's nice they get to go outside on the playground. I think he still misses his daycare though cause he asks me every morning if he is going to Jenns :( We come home and have lunch and then the kids go down for a nap and I do some of this:

I would rather be doing this:

ESPECIALLY after this stupid, gosh darn time change!!! But it does feel great to be getting housework and laundry done everyday so that I don't feel so bogged (is that a word?) down on the weekends. But of course, the BEST thing about staying at home, is spending more time with theses little munchkins:

Today is our first time going to story time at the library. I have decided that Thursdays are going to be the day that I don't go into work at all. It's going to be our library and craft day and I am pretty excited about it, especially since I have to work Saturday night.

Letter to my 3 year old son!!

Dear Paxton,

Today you are 3, and I just can't believe it! From the moment you were born you have been my little spitfire. I REALLY wanted a Halloween baby, but wouldn't you know my contractions didn't start till midnight on November 1st (rebelling already). You could be such a good little baby, then at times....well not so much:) You were never a good sleeper until you were almost 2 (now you are a rockstar sleeper), you have always been a great eater (you love salad), and of course you are my little daredevil, sports fanatic, crazy little boy!!! You walked at 7 months, you were talking really well by 14 months, you were hitting a golf ball like it was your job at 18 months, and throwing a baseball by 2 (seriously kid, those are some tough shoes for your sister to fill!!) You are the sweetest little boy, but can also be the sassiest! You love your baby sister and are so good with her. As soon as you wake up in the morning, you come out to the living room with a big smile on your face and give her a hug and a kiss (oh don't worry, I know this will all change in years to come.) Don't worry, I know you are not perfect. You can be the most stubborn little boy!! If you have your mind set on not doing something, YOU ARE NOT DOING IT (I have NO idea where you get this from, seriously, none at all). You think your sister is your own personal football player and think it's ok to tackle her and when I get mad at you, you tell me "but Mom we were playing football!" You have meltdowns that I am pretty sure can be heard in China, and MAN if you wake up in a "mood" everyone better watch out!! (Again, no clue where you inherited this from). You are all boy, you would rather watch Sportscenter than Nick Jr, you love getting dirty, you love any kind of ball as long as you can throw it, kick it, hit it, dunk it,etc. I love you, dirty nails, shirt on backwards (or inside out), hair all a mess, shoes untied, food on your face and all. You are my little man and you have brought some much joy to my life. Happy Birthday Paxton, I love you so much. Don't ever change, I love you just the way you are!!

Love Mommy

Here is a collage of Paxton from all his birthdays (and a couple pics from when he was in my belly). Gah! He was such a cute little fella (well of course he still is) I just wanna go back and squeeze him!!
